The Renowned Musician Calls On Backing to Propel Palestinian Solidarity Track to UK Festive Top Spot.
A fundraising initiative is aiming to launch a Palestinian lullaby to the peak of the festive singles chart. The project seeks to provide aid to communities in Gaza while also showcasing Palestinian artistic heritage.
A Chance for Unity and an "Chart Upset"
Composer and producer Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a chance to show solidarity with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He remarked the potential for an unexpected chart success.
“That would be amazing if that occurred, yes,” he stated. “I won't be completely let down if it doesn’t, Christmas singles are a category of their own.”
Defiant Message of Freedom and Dignity
Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the version of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's powerful central theme.
“The song holds a deeply meaningful spot for countless listeners,” Barghouti explained. “The essence is that I would prefer a dignified death than exist without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we seek to lead a respectful existence that we are entitled to as Palestinians.”
Track's Background and Contributing Musicians
The single was laid down after a large-scale benefit event held in the autumn. First conceived to be captured during the live event, the piece was cut from the show due to the event running long.
The diverse array of musicians contributing to Lullaby encompasses a selection of well-known figures from the music world. All took part in the benefit event, which reportedly raised a considerable total for relief efforts.
Final Touches and Availability
Lullaby was crafted by a trio of music creators. The track features a combination of the original Arabic with contemporary English verses.
The group managing the initiative have emphasized that their objective is to raise as much as possible for a dedicated fund. These resources will be allocated to Palestinian causes through an non-profit partner.
“We don’t have a rigid aim,” a figure commented. “We aim for as much as possible. Of course, the higher the total, the greater the impact. Every penny goes out to those in need in Gaza.”
The situation in the area was characterized as its extreme devastation, with a vast majority of infrastructure described as in ruins or severely impacted.
“Against that backdrop, a few million doesn’t make an enormous impact. But I think what does make a difference is above all raising awareness for this issue and demonstrating there’s another side to the story.”
The track is scheduled for release on Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the charity concert will be made accessible to view on a major video platform from the 19th of December.
