Nigel Farage Claims Educators of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Race Issues

The political figure stated that teachers would go on strike within weeks a Reform UK election victory, charging that they are “harming young minds” by telling students that black pupils are victims and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

During an event for a private US Christian college, the politician expressed his perspective on British schools, stating that the “radical left-wing” had “taken over schooling”.

“I expect a walkout by educators very quickly after winning the next general election,” he remarked in response to questions.

“They are corrupting young minds. They instruct children to feel guilt about their nation. They inform little Johnny, who’s eight, who is black that he is a victim and a white child of the same age that he is a perpetrator. They create division, not uniting us. They promote this harmful mindset.”

In response to Farage’s claims, the head of a major education union dismissed the idea that the schools were under Marxist influence as “absurd”. He pointed out that any strikes must relate to teachers’ terms and conditions, and doubted whether the party would target these right after taking office.

“Farage has built his political career on dog-whistle politics and now, similar to other figures, he is lining up teachers and their organizations for a conflict,” the union leader said.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. Neither I nor our union – push critical race theory as he’s suggesting … Should he become prime minister he would sell out our public services, particularly schooling … and he would be a disaster for students and learning.”

The party, which tops surveys by a significant margin, has not set out much detail on a proposed education policy and does not appear to have designated an education lead.

Nonetheless, his comments suggested the party would overhaul the system and the curriculum. He said: “We have got a massive job with education – truly monumental. And, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it will take us years, a long-term effort to reform.”

He stated that gen Z was more open to critical thinking, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Honoring Charlie Kirk, Farage said: “My goal for schooling is to foster independent thought – to instruct people that there are two points of view and you make up your own mind rather than current practices where views are labeled good or bad. It’s a massive job in the UK and US.”

The party has conflicted with a major educators’ organization, after Kebede called the party “extremist and prejudiced” and dismissed Farage as “a cheap imitation”.

The politician has charged Kebede of being “an avowed radical” … someone who is absolutely determined that our children should be poisoned through education, their thinking tainted regarding national issues” and has argued that the union is trying to indoctrinate youth opposed to his party.

Roughly a million individuals are employed in education in the UK, about half of whom are teachers and the others teaching assistants and support staff. The major education union has hundreds of thousands of members.

Countrywide walkouts over teacher pay and conditions in recent years caused widespread disruption in schools and extensive missed instruction for children.

During the American gathering, the Reform leader also vowed to promote the digital courses of the Christian college in the UK. He stated such groups were “key to resistance”, adding that: “I mean this. I’ll assist attract vast numbers of youth to your online courses. I make that commitment tonight and I’ll do that.”

The institution, a small private Christian college, offers free courses. According to its online description: “Comprehensive learning is vital for well-being and to perpetuate the blessings of civil and religious liberty. The college furnishes these beautiful courses for free to every interested learner.”
