Netflix Casts Perfect Star for Bon Clay in the Hit Series Upcoming Installment
Baroque Works is geared up to make a major impact in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, even if the true confrontation isn’t set to occur until the third season, and a beloved, audience-beloved member has recently been selected.
The streaming service revealed this week that the talented performer is now part of the One Piece cast for the third season and will play Bon Clay. This character can use their power to change into an identical duplicate of any individual they’ve made contact with with their main hand. The actor, who is identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will depict a rendition of that role re-envisioned as non-binary identifying, rather than as a drag performer, in the live-action show, differing from the source material and anime.
This performer joins several other new cast members tasked with bringing Baroque Works to life, such as chief Mr. 0, played by the seasoned performer, Sophia Anne Caruso as a key member, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who also joins the ensemble as King Nefertari Cobra of the fictional land.
Even though this character is a key figure of the group, the individual will be introduced in One Piece the upcoming installment. Considering the next season likely to portray the Little Garden arc, this marks a significant shift in the schedule of their first appearance, one that could signal further changes to the story’s structure.
Their mix of excellent comedic sense and profound feeling makes them a standout choice for the character. Besides their recent voice performance in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and numerous honors for penning and acting in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, highlighting the range they’ll add to one of One Piece’s highly regarded characters.
Netflix's live-action One Piece show is set to return for its season two on March 10, 2026.
