NFL 2025 season: Week six

Real-time updates includes text commentary of the weekend matchups on multiple platforms, starting with Denver Broncos v New York Jets at Tottenham (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Also, audio coverage is available through designated networks for a separate game (beginning at 9 PM BST).

It's week six of the NFL season and after last week's discussion about two top teams being a potential Super Bowl match-up, each surrendered their perfect starts.

Striking during those contests was the number of infractions both conceded. The Eagles did so at crucial times so they essentially beat themselves after leading by two touchdowns entering the fourth period against Denver, set to play in London this Sunday.

However it proved positive to observe that Denver quarterback the rookie was able to have the shortfall and then lead three successful possessions on three possessions in the fourth quarter, to win the victory by four points.

Denver boast the top defender in cornerback their star corner. They are number one in goal-line defense, while Philadelphia lead the league in red zone offence, yet Denver won that battle.

They executed the Eagles' number regarding simulated pressure. They weren't necessarily rushing extra pass rushers instead they might position two linebackers in the interior then drop them out and send a slot defender off the edge.

At the start of the season, we said during a show that Denver might emerge as this season's surprise contenders. They ended last season well then did a good job of building upon that.

Could Denver be this year's dark horses?

New tight end their tight end has stepped up significantly while new running back JK Dobbins is a guy the team trusts. He now ranks fifth in the NFL for rushing yards (402) as well as tied-fourth for rushing touchdowns (4).

It's impressive how head coach Sean Payton has "RUSH!" prominently of his playcall sheet.

This demonstrates how Denver represent a team aiming to run first, because one can achieve much based on that approach. It slows opposing rushes and keeps you in favourable down and distances.

It's also benefited QB the young passer, who entered the NFL as a first-round selection last year, throwing 29 TDs – just behind Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 back in 2020).

Josh Allen and Herbert possess powerful arms to throw anywhere, but they lack the mobility that Nix has. He has incredible passing ability, a unique trait, plus he is highly agile.

His assets are his movement, being able to throw while moving, and using varied release points to make the pass when he rolls out of the pocket, on rollouts. He can throw precision throws over the middle and over the corner.

As a rookie QB, aged 25, he's got a lot of poise under pressure and is not really fazed by extra rushers. He aims to avoid a sack whenever possible and can pass under pressure. He possesses a high football IQ and is quick to decide.

When you constantly run the ball it eats up time and forces the defence to stay in play for longer, and if you've got an athletic quarterback the defense must defend the field vertically and horizontally. This proves exhausting.

The quarterback has bitten back with the coach during games sometimes and I think the coach appreciates that fire, that he's a fierce rival. I think it's fun for him to have a young quarterback that is similar to moldable clay. He can really build something up how he desires to shape him. I think it's a special experience for him.

Payton has won a Super Bowl and has passed a legend in all-time victories (173, tying for 14th). He's seen it all. I think the success the Broncos are experiencing offensively is largely due to his guidance, his schemes, his situational awareness – and the pairing with the QB aids make him into who he is.

There's no better a better guy guiding you, to assist you through some of the tougher situations and build confidence.

I believe in Denver's defence, in the QB's grit and calm. But are they good enough to go against a top squad at its best? Because that wasn't a Super Bowl performance from Philadelphia in their last game.

Right now, it's unlikely Denver are elite. They're working better than most, which is a good place to be in their division. All they need to do to continue this trajectory.

They're really good at embracing their forte, which is the ground game, and this is precisely what they should do versus the Jets in London. It's going to be the JK Dobbins show, in essence.

The Jets have allowed 140 rushing yards per game (sixth worst), five rushing touchdowns so far (in the bottom ten), and they are the sole squad without a win a game.

Since the NFL started recording turnovers in 1933, this team are the first team to be without a single takeaway through five games, which is surprising considering that their new coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach at the Detroit Lions.

The Chiefs' QB stated Kansas City are off to a poor start following a recent loss by the Jaguars.

After the upcoming matchup, the Broncos face a smooth-ish schedule up to their break (in week 12) - the Giants, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans and Las Vegas Raiders before the Chiefs.

Looking at their division, the Chiefs are 2-3 and the Broncos are even with the Chargers at 3-2 so they could challenge for the top of the West.

It depends upon what version of the Chiefs they face since the Broncos {beat|def
