Football Analyst Chris Sutton Battles Singer Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

The Gunners' 10-game winning run was ended by Sunderland before the international break, however will the Premier League frontrunners recover against north London rivals Spurs this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this game," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still manage to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of guests.

For the twelfth round, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

The singer's new album, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.

Football and Parenting Life

Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a star of multiple charity football matches over time - but he is not planning a serious return as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a benefit match the other evening for a mate of mine," he said. "The team was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my daughter or boy decides to play instead."

Murs and his spouse his partner have two children, their daughter and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.

"I will not push football on our children but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be coaching their Saturday soccer side," he said.

"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously owned a football club for a period too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He managed our side for two or three seasons and had great fun with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Top Division Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to be patient for their star's comeback from fitness issues but their attack is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this game will be fairly close, however. Burnley are disciplined and their sole home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

It suggests a 1-1 tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

The singer's prediction: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their previous couple games - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which shocked me.

On the other hand, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those games were at home, they appear strong again.

West Ham's only on the road win this season came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest coach.

So, what exactly do I go with here - will it be West Ham extending their run under Nuno, or Bournemouth bouncing back?

I am going to choose Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

The guest's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but the visitors have picked up under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the campaign started, but they have impressed a several observers under their manager and are in good form with three in their last four matches.

My son told me to select Brentford striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.

The forward will probably score again on Saturday but I am still not going to pick him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.

They have not had much success on the travel this term, and Brighton are consistently strong at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team pose much more of a threat.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

Olly's view: It could be a match where you think there is going to be a many goals but it in reality proves to be rather close. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.

They have have plenty of quality in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be sucked into a relegation fight.

Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.

The away side's display in the 2-2 draw with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not seen anyone else disrupt the Gunners like that this term, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing to do to back the visitors here, because they are obviously capable of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the end of last month.

But I am not choose that. Instead, I really need to continue going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good results because they clearly love to defy my predictions.

Looking at Fulham's home form, the only team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Their manager's side will be absolutely eager for a positive result, so I am going to say they will secure three points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

Olly's choice: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and also that the hosts are on a bad streak... but Fulham have still been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough fixture to call. Liverpool have lost seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but could they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
